The Mutual Financial senior management team consists of 3 senior partners who have more than 45 years' experience in the financial services industry.
Our qualified advisers are supported by an extremely capable and approachable administration team, led by our Office Manager, Helen, who has 25 years industry experience. All support team members are either fully qualified advisors or studying towards professional examinations.

Austin previously operated his own successful financial services business in the City of London and has over 18 years experience in the financial services sector. He has regularly appeared on BBC radio and television to provide an expert opinion on financial services-related issues and is also a director of Pro-Manchester, a large professional services membership organisation.
He is a DIY fanatic, in his element with his tool box or garden spade. He also plays squash, has a keen interest in food and cooking and loves to spend an evening with friends - or his pet ducks!

Starting his career in the banking industry 28 years ago, Andy initially specialised in stock broking and investment management for private individuals. He achieved the "Worshipful Prize" for the highest Advanced Financial Planning examination results in the UK, which was a huge professional honour. He has also attained an MBA with 1st class Honours from Manchester Business School and achieved a distinction for an MBA thesis on the subject of "Technology in Financial Services".
Stephen spends much of his free time flying a helicopter, having caught the flying bug whilst learning to fly RAF Bulldogs during his university years. More recently, he has started to take Gyrocopter lessons, encouraging his business partners to increase his life assurance.
He is also a Manchester United season ticket holder - which can create heated discussions with fellow Partner, Andrew.

Specialist areas include Inheritance tax planning, savings & investments, costs, rents and surgery projects, retirement planning together with income protection and life assurance for the medical practitioner.
Indoo has two young children who try their best to keep her fit. Other interests include squash, badminton and dining out. She is an avid Derby fan and is able to hold her own in the red and blue office banter.
Gareth H Edwards
Gareth has worked in financial services sector for over 10 years, 5 with Mutual. He has a background in providing mortgage advice and is also a qualified stockbroker allowing him to provide holistic financial planning to his clients. Gareth holds the CII Diploma in Financial Planning and is keen to progress his studies with the aim of becoming a Chartered Financial Planner.» Read More
Gareth is predominately involved with providing Wealth Management and Financial Advice to both individuals and SME’s. His specialty lies in the financial aspects of personal injury trusts and the benefits system where he works closely with solicitors and clients to advise on all aspects of medical negligence and personal injury awards. Gareth also enjoys working with clients who require pre-retirement advice.
Recently married to Tina his long suffering partner of 15 years, Gareth likes to keep fit with regularly visits to the gym and tries his luck at Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. An early bird who enjoys walks in the park with his dog “Rocky the Jackapoo”!
Julian started his career in Financial Services in 1988 working for a major UK high street bank. From 1997 to 2002 Julian worked for another major high street institution and specialised in providing pension advice to businesses.» Read More
In 2002 Julian became an Independent Financial Advisor. His clients are varied covering all aspects of financial planning including personal and business protection, savings, capital protection, inheritance tax mitigation, corporate and personal pension planning. His clients range from the young, newly employed getting their foot on the financial ladder, young families with protection needs to those that have retired with inheritance tax mitigation needs and capital preservation needs as well as all aspects of business financial planning such as putting in place pension schemes and key man cover.
He currently holds the CII Diploma in Financial and is currently working towards gaining the qualification of Chartered Financial Planner.
Julian and his partner are the proud parents of a little girl which has increased the household to 5 if you include the cat and two hens. He spends most of his time entertaining his little girl - she is his favourite subject for photography and took over 3000 photographs of her in 2012 using one or more of the 6 cameras he owns. Hill walking is still a pleasure to be enjoyed but his beloved skiing has had to take a back seat until his daughter is older. Also an avid wine and beer drinker (within moderation) having attended many beer and wine tasting festivals in the UK and abroad.
A recent passion is Hot and Cold Smoking – the art of cooking food slowly with smoke as a major ingredient.
The birth of his daughter has meant that he is now a fair weather Manchester United supporter. Unfortunately the banter within Mutual Financial will be limited due to the lack of opposing team fans.
Favourite place for a holiday is Cornwall especially the Roseland Coast.
Rob started working in the financial services industry in 2005 for a major pension and life assurance company, after gaining a number of financial qualifications he decided to move over to the advisory side of financial services initially working as an administrator for a local IFA firm.» Read More
Rob joined Mutual Financial Management in 2011 where he was promoted to Paraplanner, supporting the financial advisors with high quality suitability reports and technical assistance when required.
Rob has attained the Diploma in Financial Planning and has recently become a Financial Advisor specialising in pensions advice to individual and corporate clients, he is also continuing his study and currently working towards Chartered status.
Outside of work, Rob is married with two children and enjoys spending his time with the family. He is a keen runner and has completed 2 half marathons with an ambition of running a full marathon in the near future.

Matthew has 10 years experience in financial services, with time spent at a high street bank and two large life offices. He is currently working towards his advanced Diploma in Financial Planning. Matthew enjoys spending time with his young son, ruining a good walk on the golf course and keeps fit training at his local boxing club.

Outside of work, John is very keen on physical fitness attending the gym 6 times a week to indulge in weight training, boxing based circuit training and running. John has completed the BUPA Manchester 10 Kilometre run for the last 3 years and is considering a return to competitive ‘Powerlifting’. Amongst John’s myriad other interests are Music, Computers, Technology, History, Cosmology and Palaeoanthropology - along with trips out on one of his motorcycles (when the weather permits).

Sarah has over 17 years’ experience in the financial services industry, having initially worked for a large pension and life assurance provider. After gaining invaluable experience in a compliance function, Sarah moved over to the IFA sector in a technical support role as a Paraplanner in 2007. Emma joined Mutual with 9 years’ previous experience working within Financial Services. Most of her experience has been gained within advisory firms specialising in the individual, corporate and medical sectors.
Outside of work Emma can be found attending gigs around Manchester and spending time with her partner and Family.

Karen has joined the Mutual Team after working in the IFA sector of Financial Services for the past 17 years. She has gained most of her experience working for 2 large banks and then latterly for a National IFA specialising in the individual, corporate and medical sectors.
Outside of work, when not spending time on the East Yorkshire Coast, you will find Karen socialising with her friends and family or enjoying a good film, book or cooking.
